Dillingham Storage for Business Tenants

Dillingham Storage loves to welcome back old tenants. We have many tenants who move out and then return to us a few years later in need of a new unit. We are always here to welcome back our old friends! Storage units are also great for businesses who only need storage temporarily, or for certain times of the year. We offer tenant contracts on a monthly basis. Some business tenants stay for a long time while others only need it for short periods. During the pandemic, we’ve also had some tenants rent a unit to make extra room for an office at home. Storage units are multi-purposed and can serve the needs of several different types of customers.

Ben’s Business at Dillingham Storage

Ben is one of our old friends. Ben was a tenant with us back in 2010. Ben specializes in refurbishing and transporting motorcycles. He does great work. He recently moved back in with Dillingham Storage for his business. We love having Ben back with us. If you’re looking to purchase a refurbished motorcycle or need a tow, you can email him at motobiketrans@gmail.com. You can also give us a call and we’ll put you in touch with him!

Dillingham Storage for Local Businesses

Dillingham Storage loves hosting small business owners. We have many local entrepreneurs and businesses who utilize our storage facility for work-related reasons. We have seen people setup remote office spaces, workshops, or merchandise storage. A workspace in a quiet storage facility is attractive for business owners who are looking for cheaper office space. Office leases can be expensive for small businesses and also require long-term commitments. We can offer a comparable product with a short-term commitment. In light of the pandemic, we have also had more individuals looking for office spaces outside of their home to accomodate their new lifestyle.

Scott has been a tenant with us since the very beginning in 2010, and has stayed with us ever since. He owns a printing company that works on promotional items for groups. He prints logo items for sports groups like the University of Hawaii football team. Scott prints jackets, bags, towels, pens, T-shirts and recently started printing face masks. Occasionally he will meet clients here at Dillingham Storage and we get the chance to meet some popular athletes. We are so happy to have Scott here so we can meet some of his famous clients!

Dillingham Storage and Jane

Dillingham Storage prioritizes customer service. We want people to feel welcomed when they walk in, even with all of the restrictions in place. When customers are interested in becoming committed tenants, we give a comprehensive facility tour. Tours are important to help customers make the right decision. We want to make sure that we can offer them what they’re looking for. This is one of the reasons why we have gotten such great Yelp reviews in previous years.

Customer Service at Dillingham Storage

Jane recently came in to check out our available units and get a tour of Dillingham storage. We learned that she was a tenant at another facility but new management was problematic for her. She did not like the service that she was getting with staff at the facility. Here at Dillingham, we prioritize customer service and are known for our friendly staff. The Dillingham ohana prioritizes the connections that we have with tenants, no matter how long they have been with us! As soon as we were done with the tour, Jane wanted to sign paperwork with us. Jane was moved in within a week. We are so happy to have her here! The Dilly Ohana loves growing, especially with new tenants.

Dillingham Storage New Rule

At Dillingham Storage we have introduced new policies for the safety of our staff and storage tenants. Our office hours have been reduced to lessen the risk of transmission. Our new hours are Monday-Friday 10-6 and Saturday 12-5. We also have enhanced our cleaning routines and closed off access to our “public-use” computers in the lobby. There is also a limited capacity in our lobby with the number of visitors. Check out our other COVID-19 rules in place here

Dillingham Storage Prioritizes Safety

We have a new rule recently implemented asking visitors who are not feeling well or recently traveled to stay home. Please do not visit the facilities or the front office if you are not feeling well or are showing symptoms. If you have traveled out of state recently, we ask that you keep out of the office. This is only in the best safety interest of our staff and our tenants. There are many businesses implementing this rule so we feel comfortable asking this of our guests. Although we require masks and social distancing on property, it’s important to keep out potentially COVID-positive individuals.

Dillingham Storage Bento Drive-Through

The Dillingham Storage ohana partnered up with the Surfrider Spirit Organization to offer a bento giveaway! In the last week of April, we hosted a “bento drive-through” on Friday for anyone who saw our sign on the street driving by. With the help of our friends at the Surfrider Spirit Organization, we provided free meals to all those who drove by on Friday. It was a great time and we are so happy we could help feed the community during this time of uncertainty and hardship.

Supporting Local Business

We love supporting local businesses and were happy to do so by purchasing bentos from a local restaurant. It is important for local business owners to support each other and keep spirits up during this time. Although the Stay-At-Home Order has been extended, we can still spread aloha from a safe distance!

Dillingham Storage Loves Bentos

Our storage ohana had a great time passing out meals to all those who drove through the front lot. It was a fun experience and a great way to meet people in the community, safely! Everyone loves bentos and we are so happy that we could provide this to members of our community. People commented on how they loved the idea and were excited to get some free lunch at Dillingham Storage on Friday!

Dillingham Storage to Flatten the Curve

Dillingham Storage wants everyone to know that we are thinking of our customers and tenants during this time! Practicing social distancing is difficult, especially for us. Although we are listed as an essential business and remain open, we have new policies in place to restrict the flow of customers. We are accustomed to chatting with our “regulars” on a periodic basis and having multiple people in the office at once. It is difficult to have the 2 person-max capacity constraint on our front office right now, but it is for the best.

Stay Safe and Stay Healthy

In order to stop the spread, we must stay behind our plexiglass and just hope that things go back to normal. We know that everyone is uneasy right now and the future is uncertain. The ohana at Dillingham Storage wishes it could give everyone a big hug right now! This is a trying time for most right now, and we are hoping that all of our tenants and customers are safe and healthy.

Dillingham Storage New Policies

It is important for all of us to contribute to “flatten the curve” by staying home and staying inside! Here at Dillingham we are making our contribution with our new sanitation policies and office policies in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are doing our best to help the community, and also keep our staff safe and healthy.

Shirley’s New Unit at Dillingham Storage

Shirley has been a tenant with Dillingham Storage since 2012. That’s 8 years with us! She has held one of our larger units for quite some time now. We are happy to have her around. Shirley stopped by one day to see if she could secure a lease on two more units of the same size. We gave her a tour of what we had available.

Two Units at Dillingham Storage

She explained to us that she actually had two units at another facility and has wanted to move over to Dillingham Storage for a long time but has not had the time or manpower. We know moving can be stressful and time consuming. Sometimes it does not all happen on our watch as we would like. Shirley was happy with the units she saw at our facilities and finally made the decision. She was unhappy with the lack of customer service at her other storage facility, even though she was one of their long-time storage tenants. Customer service is a priority to us!

Shirley decided to move in with us full time and keep her storage units with us. We are happy she made the decision because now we get to see her more often!

Give us a call if you are interested in our other services, like truck rentals or print services, at our Dillingham Self Storage facility.

Customer Spotlight: Pearl

Our Dillingham storage business has been open for a long time. We have had tenants and customers with us since our very first day along with those who come and go periodically. We have expanded our business to include a print shop as well as our own fleet of rental vans and trucks. It’s been great growing our business.

Long Time Dillingham Storage Customer

Pearl was one of those customers that started with us in the very beginning. She was one of our first tenants upon opening the storage facility. She left the islands some time later and closed out her unit with us. However, she recently has started her move back to the islands – because who can resist Hawai’i! She checked in on us and asked about availability to start planning her move. Storage units can be useful when planning a big move to hold large items while in the process of finding a place. Pearl was a big fan of our Dillingham storage facilities and we were her top choice for a storage venue. However, she noticed our rates had increased since she last saw us. Hawai’i is an expensive place to live and operate a business, and over the years our demand has grown. Regardless, Pearl is still aiming to store with us for her upcoming move. We’re happy to have you back, Pearl!
