Our dillingham self storage units have been filling up now that it’s the holidays. We’ve noticed that several of our tenants have been in need of more space so several of them acquired a second unit with us.  This means that we’re filling up fast.

As of now, there are only a handful of spaces available.  If you’re in need of storage, call now to ask us about one.  It’s a great feeling to clean out your home to ring in the new year.  You may also need a space to store all of those extra Christmas decorations after the holidays are over!

Santa sometimes has a hard time figuring out a hiding spot because those keiki are getting really good at finding things!  In units, all the gifts are safe and hidden from potential discovery!

Michael has been looking to get a storage unit with us since he left us and has been on our wait list for quite some time.  When Michael moved out last year, he said goodbye to a unit size that’s very popular around here.  When he came back to us earlier this year to get another unit again, we weren’t able to get him the same one.  That’s why he’s been on our wait list for a while.

He wanted a storage unit with us and didn’t want to go anywhere else so he was willing to stay on our wait list for a while.  At the beginning of this month, he came into our office to see if anything had opened up and we unfortunately had to tell him that the specific size he wanted was still unavailable.  However, we gave him a tour of our facilities and he realized that a few other units that we have were actually more suitable than the one he’s been waiting for!

Cary at CAS Crafts

Our facilities provide more than just printing and storage. We offer a mail service for tenants as well. For example, businesses and tenants can use our address to ship their items to, and we’ll receive it for them and hold onto it until they pick it up.

Cary is one of our tenants that utilizes our service. He’s been a tenant with us since late 2012. Cary owns CAS Crafts and sells at craft fairs around the island throughout the year. We accept boxes for him when he’s shipping in new items. We know that there’s a craft fair coming up when a new box comes in!

He’s so sweet. He always brings treats for us whenever he comes in to pick up his boxes! We tell him he doesn’t need to bring anything for us, but he still brings us goodies anyway. It’s so sweet to have tenants like Cary who bring us goodies. A few times he forgot to bring us goodies so he came back a second time, after he had already picked up his package, to bring us something! We love helping our customers, especially the ones who feed us!

Arlene has been a self storage tenant with us for a while now. She’s a local business owner that uses her storage to help her business. Her business, Hidden Treasures, which sells travel products, usually gets really busy around the holiday season. Arlene does a lot of shows and craft shows during this time. She’s reserved a van once a week for every week from August until the end of the year.

The Dilly Rental vans really help her do these shows because without them it would be so difficult for her to transport her items. Arlene joked around with us that she won’t be able to take a day off until after Christmas! Although she’s really busy, she’s got one less thing to worry about now that she’s got a van reserved until December.

Katherine loves our storage vans

Katherine has been a customer renting our storage vans even when we had our uhaul. Now she’s been renting our Dilly Rentals.  Katherine and her boyfriend recently moved to the mainland in the last few years.  She rented a van from us in the spring to help in the moving process.

Katherine came in again in September for our 10’ transit van.  We remembered her when she stopped by!  She mentioned that they have been moving around to different places since they’ve come here from the mainland.  Our vehicles have been of help to them every time they’ve needed one!  

Hopefully we won’t be seeing them for a while because that means they’ve found a place they’re really happy with this time!

Dilly Rentals are really helpful when moving because we provide a lot of different sizes and are fairly efficient with getting back to customer questions over email. Or, if you want to give us a call, that’s fine, too! Several customers who were adamant uhaul renters are still with us even though we have switched over to our own Dilly Rental vans.

Doug’s business storage unit

Doug has had a storage unit with us ever since 2010.  He’s a local business owner.  He currently runs his business, Hawaiian Island Shine from a kiosk in PearlRidge. Doug recently leased a store space because he is expanding his business!  We’re so happy for Doug but we’re sad to see him go. At the time he was running his business primarily from his storage unit with us, but now he’s got his own place for the store.

However just the other day, he came into let us know that his store space isn’t as big as he thought it would be so he would still keep a storage unit with us!  Although we had moved him out of his large unit already, we were able to accommodate him in a smaller unit that would work for him.  We’re so happy to see our small business owners grow their businesses, but we’re still happy to have him around!

We’ve got our own fleet – the Dilly Rentals!

Nancy asked about our uhaul vehicles a few weeks ago, but we had to remind her that we are not a uhaul dealer anymore. We’ve got our own fleet now – the Dilly Rentals!

Nancy’s son’s car was in the shop for a day, so they were going to get a rental car just to be able to get around town and go to work for that day. However, someone gave her the idea of renting a uhaul vehicle because it would probably be cheaper. This is why Nancy called us inquiring about our uhaul vehicles, because she had remembered seeing them on our lot a while back.

We gave her the rates for our cargo vans and she reserved one over the phone and picked it up that day! After returning the van the following day, Nancy commented how happy and relieved she was that she used one of our vans! Nancy didn’t have to spend a ridiculous amount of money just for a rental car for one day, our cargo vans were actually cheaper!

Our prime location also helped her. She didn’t rack up too many miles because we are central to a lot of places. Nancy left as a happy camper with a bill cheaper than $50!

Clarke recently got a storage unit with us. He initially said “no” to our units because we didn’t have the available size he wanted. However, he came back a few days later to go with the unit we had available.

The next month, his daughter stopped by our office to cash in her refer-a-friend discount because she referred her dad. However, silly Clarke thought only his daughter would get the discount so he forgot to mention her name when he signed his storage lease! Clarke was just joking because he forgot that we give the discount to the old and new tenants in the referral.

We applied the newfound referral discount to Clarke’s new unit and his daughter’s next month’s rent. Clarke said he’s going to try and refer someone new every month to get a discount now!

The refer-a-friend discount is $50 off your new month’s rent, for each tenant, the new and the old!

Jamie came in looking for a storage unit a few days ago with her aunt. She was looking for a small unit just to put some of her things in, so we gave her a tour of our facilities. We give potential tenants a tour of our facilities so they know what they’re going to be paying for and make sure that we are able to give them everything that they need. She wasn’t sure of her final decision so we gave her some time to think about it.

A few days later she returned, eager to sign her lease for the storage unit. Jamie was also such a sweetheart and brought a pair of leggings for everyone in the office! The company she got leggings from is called “lularoe” and makes very cute, customized leggings. Jamie said that she was so pleased with her tour and was so happy with how nice our staff was that she wanted to sign her lease with us and bring us a gift at the same time! Thank you Jamie for the leggings, and welcome to the Dillingham ohana!
