One of our customers, a Stage, Sound & Lights Company, located in Honolulu, Hawaii, was a tenant in our self-storage building on Dillingham Blvd for over 2 years. He started with one small inside self-storage bay, and eventually was renting 2 outside larger self-storage bays. It was perfect for his operation, as he had drive up access. Also, the self-storage facility is open 24 -7, and for his particular Honolulu, Hawaii-based business it was ideal; especially for the nights that they would complete a show or concert and be able to access their self-storage bays late at night or in the early morning hours.
They had use of Dillingham Blvd Self Storage’s conference room, internet, computers, mail service and instant communications with our front retail office. All of which are conveniently located on the outskirts of downtown Honolulu.
Their business continued to grow, and just in October this year they had to lease a larger warehouse to accommodate their operational needs.
One of the reasons that they were successful is that they were able to save money in rent and apply those savings to investing in new equipment, which allowed them to acquire larger accounts.

We’re a family run business, and it’s important to us that our customers feel part of our ohana. That’s why we do everything we can to offer them total service.

"They receive my mail and large shipments from the mainland or internationally, then they call to notify me that they have it stored in a secured area. Plus they have internet, a fax and copy machine, a meeting room we can use, locks, boxes…I could go on."

A long-time customer of our self storage units in Honolulu, who we had known had been through a lot, came in one day to check in with us. He started telling us that there was just no sense in living anymore. He talked of his struggle on a daily basis and his loss of will to continue. After a long heart to heart talk with him, we learned that he had three children, his time as a chef was what he was passionate for, and that he really was trying.
From what started as just a simple check in to see how he was doing, he cried as he told us his story, we of course empathized with him and talked him into continuing in the right path and he eventually left our office laughing and smiling. |

One night awhile back, Hanale Kaanapu of Ha.Ka. Entertainment pulled up to our mini self storage facility at 1 a.m. to lock away his equipment. He noticed that our entry gate had a big dent in it. Concerned that a damaged fence compromised our security, he immediately gave us a call.
"Not only did maintenance come to fix it right away, but the owner did too," explains Hanale. "That’s above and beyond for the security of the customers. I’ve been to other self storage Honolulu facilities. They won’t fix it until they find the people who damaged it and wait to settle for the money. But here they jumped right at the situation."

"I have a lot of equipment, so I rent four units. If I need a forklift they’ve got it. If I need to rent their truck or cargo van, it’s just a few steps away, when I’m done, I just drive it in, hop into my car and I’m gone. It’s so easy!"
